Carlo Magno is a renowned ceramic artist from San Bartolo and a leading authority on Oaxacan popular art and craft, with work exhibited in Mexico, the US and Europe. Fiercely proud of his Zapotec roots, he is the founder of the Museo Estatal de Arte Popular de Oaxaca (MEAPO)and has received numerous honors, including Mexico’s National Prize for Arts and Sciences and the Gran Premio de Arte Popular.
